NOTE / SECPRIVA

What we inspect in an inherited automation

An unfamiliar workflow is not automatically a bad workflow. The first job is to understand what it already does.

Start at the trigger and follow the data to every destination. Record which system owns each field, where credentials are used, how retries behave, and what happens when a downstream step returns an error.

trigger -> validate -> transform -> write -> notify
             |                         |
             +-- retry policy ----------+

Logs are useful only when they include enough context to connect an attempt to an input and an outcome. A screenshot of a green workflow run is not a complete inspection.
