Forensic Watermarking Explained
Published on March 18, 2026
Digital content piracy and unauthorized session recording are the greatest threats to high-value session operators. Traditional DRM is often too heavy or easily bypassed by screen capture software.
The SecPriva approach
Our **Forensic Watermarking** works at the presentation layer. It injects a translucent, high-contrast, cryptographically-linked overlay into the browser's render loop.
Why it works:
- **Randomized Motion**: The watermark shifts position every few seconds, making it impossible to "crop out" or hide with static overlays.
- **Identifying Data**: It displays a combination of the viewer's IP address and their unique session ID.
- **Psychological Deterrence**: When a viewer sees their own identification pulsing across the screen, the likelihood of an "accidental" leak drops to near zero.
We believe that true security isn't just about locks; it's about **accountability**.
