Data Privacy 101 for Operators

Published on March 15, 2026

In a world of increasing surveillance, your privacy is your competitive advantage. If you are an operator handles sensitive sessions—be it legal, medical, or performance-based—your digital footprint is your liability.

1. Minimal Data Collection

If you don't collect it, you can't lose it. SecPriva asks for the bare minimum: an email (which can be a burner) and a password. We don't require phone numbers, physical addresses, or ID scans unless strictly required by local regulatory compliance modules.

2. Browser-to-Browser Encryption

Always ensure your traffic travels directly between your device and the viewer's device. Intermediary servers that "transcode" your video are reading your data in plaintext. SecPriva avoids this by using direct WebRTC transport layers.

3. Burner Links

Use one-time links for one-time clients. Never reuse the same room URL for different people unless you are using a strictly controlled Vanity Room with Always-On disabled.

Protecing your data isn't a task—it's a **workflow**.
